MassKara Festival 2011

A crowd packed the Araneta Street to the Public Plaza for the street dance competition held last October 15 and 16 for the School and the Barangay Category, respectively.

I was nearby the Public Plaza, on both days, but wasn’t able to get a good position for the photoshoot. Either the dancers would walk hurriedly to catch up for the delayed time or more people would move further to where the dancers were, blocking my camera’s view.

In line with the celebration of MassKara Festival, it’s now a tradition for the street dance participants to display their mask and costume days before the competition. For this year’s MassKara Festival, I visited Robinson’s Place once again for the mask and costume display at the 3rd floor.

My husband’s first 5K and 10K runs

It was only this year that Val decided to join fun run events.  His first 5K run was in Guimaras during the province’s Manggahan Festival last April.

“You cook the pata tim later.  It’s easy.  Add all the ingredients and let it boil until the pata are tender,” said my mom.

Ha?  Baka masayang ang pata.  Hindi ako marunong magluto nyan,” was my quick reply.

The Downside of Windows 7 Upgrade

Have you used Windows 3.1 Operating System or at least seen one?  I did.  Windows 3.1 is a 16-bit operating system by Microsoft sold during the early 1990′s.  It was the operating system that came with our very first desktop PC which was bought eons ago.

Revisiting Boracay
Revisiting Boracay

I was in my early teens when I first set foot in Boracay — one of Philippine’s famed travel destinations.  As years pass by, some would say Boracay wasn’t as nice as it was before yet foreigners would still flock this white sand beach all year long.

Last February, I got the chance to revisit Boracay Island with my in-laws sans my husband.  At the Caticlan port, we paid several fees — transportation fee, terminal fee, environmental fee, etc. — which reached more than a hundred pesos compared to the 10-peso fare before.
