Mother’s Day treat

My husband and I were planning for a flower and a cake for our moms.  Both our mothers love plants with flowers already blooming.  However, we couldn’t find any new plants in Panaad Park.  So, a cake for each mother was next in our list.

Calea Cakes and Pastries is our all-time favorite.  It was 10 a.m. when we stepped in Calea Lacson and the pastry shop was already swarmed with patrons.  The staff were busy listing down orders while some were carefully packing the cakes.

I was thinking of having Mud Pie for Mama and another type of ice cream cake for Mommy.  But the single whole Mud Pie in Calea was already reserved for someone else and it’s only 10 in the morning.

For Mommy, we chose Mousse Bomb which is a dome-shaped ice cream cake

and for Mama, we bought Choco Glaze.  It has chocolate ice cream on the top half and kind-of-a-brownie in the bottom half layer.

Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers out there!
