Our Corregidor trip last March 2007 was one of my memorable escapades with my girl friends — just us girls. There was an option to stay overnight in Corregidor. But we only chose the day tour to lessen our cost. Besides, a day tour is enough to enjoy most out of the historical Corregidor.
Sun Cruises offers ferrying service and guided tour within Corregidor. The day tour package already includes a buffet lunch. Kaya sulit!
The tourists were divided into two groups — English and Japanese. The shuttle service with the sign “English” meant an English-speaking tour guide and a Japanese-speaking guide for “Japanese.”
Corregidor Island stands as a memorial place for the heroism of Filipino and American defenders who fought against the invasion of Japanese forces during the World War II.
According to our guide, those in the “Japanese” shuttle service had a different version than those in the “English” shuttle service. You know, Japanese were the antagonists during WWII so they should have a better way of narrating the history without hurting our Japan tourists. And I wonder what version they have.
Because I’m not good in history, I’ll leave it to Corregidor Philippines website.
Meanwhile, here are some of our photos with the huge canons, the ruins, inside the Malinta Tunnel, the museums and more.
